I Danmark er der et stort udbud af forskellige a-kasser. Nogle specialiserer sig til en arbejdsgruppe andre er meget brede i deres medlemmer. Når man så kigger sig om efter en billig a-kasse kan du være du allerede har en a-kasse, men ønsker at skifte a-kasse, grundet en høj medlemspris, så kan man måske tænke om det koster noget at melde sig ud af en a-kasse. Og der er umiddelbart ikke nogen bindingsperiode eller et udmeldingsgebyr, man skal tage højde for, hvis man ønsker at prøve noget andet eller spare nogle penge. Det kan være meget svært at overskue hvad priserene er for de forskellige a-kasser og hvad forskellen er på de givne a-kasser og om der er fagforening tilknyttet a-kasserne.
