Kanel er ikke kun godt oven på risengrøden. Kanel er et krydderi, som faktisk har en masse andre gode egenskaber end god smag. Kanel kommer fra grene af træer, som hedder Cinnamomum. De træer vokser og trives bedste i Caribien, Sydamerika og Sydøstasien. 

Kanel smager rigtig godt, men faktisk har man anvendt kanel til medicinske formål siden 2000 før kristus i Egypten. Egypten så meget op til kanel, da det kunne bruges til at behandle patienter mod hoste, gigt og ondt i halsen. Det er et verdenskendt krydderi, som indtager 2. pladsen, lige efter sort peber. Kanel sælges i pulverform, men også i hele barkstykker. Derudover kan man også finde kanel i æteriske olier, måske også CBD olie fra Formula Swiss og diverse kosttilskud. 

Kanel har sundhedsmæssige fordele

Kanel har en herlig duft, og det smager godt. Men forskere har verden over undersøgt krydderiet for dets egentskaber. De har påvist, at kanel har en evne til at forbedre svampeinfektioner. Kanel har anti-inflammatoriske egenskaber. Det kan nedsætte blodsukkerniveauet. Desuden siges det, at en teske kanel om dagen, sætter kroppens forbrænding igang, og derfor kan det hjælpe til et vægttab. 

Involver kanel i din kost 

Kanel kan give et godt twist i din daglige kost. Du kan drysse lidt kanel som topping på din morgenmad. Man kan tilføje kanel i diverse gryderetter, og så findes det et hav af forskellige desserter, som kager, muffins og så videre, som indeholder kanel. Det gode ved kanel er, at det har en naturlig sødme, og derfor kan det oftest erstattes af almindelig sukker. Kanel er desuden også kendt for, at have en mættende effekt. Kanelen, som man drysser over sin risengrød, gør bevægelserne langsommere i tarmene, som udgør at man føler sig mæt i længere tid. 

Kanel kan forbedre ens koncentrationsevne

Derfor har EU fastsat en grænse for indtagelse af kanel, og det gælder forbrugere, men også fabrikker, som producerer produkter der indeholder kanel. Det anbefales 1/2-1 teske kanel dagligt. Det gælder altså det daglige indtag. Det kan være i din musli, din thai-latte/te, kosttilskud og din generelle kostplan.
