Vi bor i et dejligt parcelhus med en stor have. Her er plads til, at børnene kan boltre sig i legerummet, når vejret ikke tillader, at de leger udenfor. Jeg er ellers fan af, at de skal være uden for mest muligt. Jeg tror på, at det hjælper dem til at udvikle deres fantasi, når de får lov til at klatre i de gamle frugttræer, vi har. Og så tror jeg også, at det hjælper dem til et bedre helbred, når de tumler rundt og bevæger sig fysisk udenfor. Det her med at lege med en tablet indenfor er ok om aftenen, eller når vejret er dårligt – eller når man er syg!
Forældrene elsker det
Der er mange af mine børns venners forældre, som har sagt til mig, at de sætter stor pris på, at jeg sender ungerne udenfor, når de leger her hos os. Det er jeg glad for. Jeg ved, at mange af børnenes venners forældre har meget travlt og simpelthen ikke magter at tage skænderiet, når de beder deres børn om at lukke for iPad’en.
Stillads på facaden
Men i disse dage, hvor vejret endeligt er blevet godt, er jeg nødt til at gå på kompromis med mine principper. Det er nemlig sådan, at vi har fået sat et facadestillads op, fordi vi skal have renoveret alle vinduerne oppe på første sal. Det når op i ca. 8 m. højde og jeg er simpelthen bange for, at børnene vil bruge det som klatrestativ.
Bare tanken om, at et af mine børn, eller en af deres kammerater, kan falde ned fra det, får koldsveden til at trille ned ad ryggen på mig. Det er ikke sjovt.
Stilladser er ikke til leg
Og jeg ved ikke helt, hvordan jeg løser den gåde med at få forbudt børnene at klatre op i stilladser. Det er jo fristende. De har utroligt meget energi og er overbeviste om, at de kan klare alt.
Ét er, at de klatrer op i frugttræerne, men her taler vi om højst 2 meter. Stilladset, ja, som sagt det når helt op i 8 meters højde. Det skræmmer mig.
Jeg har en idé om at zoneinddele haven, sådan, så der er tilladt- og forbudt for børn områder. Jeg ved dog, at det ikke vil virke. Når mine børn får at vide, at noget er forbudt, så er det første, de gør som regel at forsøge at gøre det. Så hvis jeg fortæller dem, at facadestilladset er forbudt område, så ved jeg, at de vil klatre op på det.
Men kan jeg holde ungerne indenfor? Måske. Hvis jeg går hen og køber sådan en klatrestige til dem, så kan de få lov til at lege stilladsarbejdere inden døre. Måske er det den bedste løsning. Måske kan jeg lokke en af håndværkerne, der kommer i morgen til at forklare børnene om hvor farligt, det kan være, også selv om man er forsigtig, så de forstår, at de ikke må klatre op i det? Det kunne jeg faktisk godt tænke mig at spørge ham sjakformanden, om han kunne bruge et lille kvarters tid på.
